• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Pre-season practices 5 days per week starting Mon, Aug 11; in-season practices 3 days per week starting Tues, Sept 2; games and events from Sat, Sept 6 through Sat, Nov 15
Bothell Cougar Junior Football & Cheer lists Rachel Uhlig as President. The program’s mission is to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for all participants, build positive self-esteem for players, teach team participation and responsibility, teach respect and honor for opponents and all other participants, teach sportsmanship and fair play, teach football skills in an environment where players compete with others of comparable age and weight, and teach all participants how to win, how to lose, and how to do both with dignity. Bothell Cougar Junior Football Association is a volunteer-run nonprofit that states it never turns a child away due to financial need and continues to meet growing scholarship demand through community support and fundraising. The program is described as one of the premier youth football and cheer organizations in the Pacific Northwest, serves boys and girls in grades K–8, and is a feeder program for Bothell High School, with some athletes advancing to collegiate and professional levels. It competes in the Greater Eastside Junior Football Association (GEJFA), a league of 18 clubs across King County, where GEJFA serves youth between the ages of 8 and 14, has 17 franchise clubs with geographical boundaries usually aligned with local high schools, and follows rules to ensure equitable playing time for all players.
