Lakewood Steilacoom DuPont Soccer Club Micro Soccer introduces kids to the game of soccer through ball play and games. In this program, kids learn the game of soccer in a fun environment of ball play and games. Micro soccer is the U5/U6 program at Lakewood Steilacoom DuPont Soccer Club and is a coed program that allows kids a lot of touches on the ball and a general introduction to the game. Micro Soccer is non-competitive, and every child participates according to his or her own comfort level, with teams generally coached by a volunteer parent who is on the field with the kids during games.
• Ages: 4–5 years old
• Schedule: Games begin the weekend after Labor Day in September and the season ends the weekend before Thanksgiving in November.
The mission of the Lakewood Steilacoom DuPont Soccer Club is to educate and promote development of local youth to achieve their maximum potential through the sport of soccer. The club’s mission states that it promotes skill development, tactical awareness, mental toughness, physical fitness, leadership, and “love of the game” while maintaining high standards of sportsmanship, respect, and fair play.
