PAL Summer Camps are organized by the Police Activities League of SW Washington, a youth development non-profit. PAL Sports are put together as a collaborative effort between law enforcement volunteers, community partners, and PAL staff. The mission of the Police Activities League of SW Washington is to foster and facilitate positive relationships between law enforcement and youth. PAL began in the 1910s when Captain John Sweeney of the New York City Police Department began the Police Athletic League or PAL. PAL offers children year-round programs and special events that foster teamwork, encourage citizenship, and provide opportunities to work with law enforcement officers and caring adult mentors. High School CSI Camp is designed for youths aged 14–18 and is typically a more advanced version of Intro to CSI, and it partners with the Clark County Sheriff's Office. PAL Summer Camps are filled on a first come first serve basis, and youth must be registered to participate.
