About

After School Homework Tutoring is one of the specific programs offered through The Salvation Army in Bellevue. Alongside after school homework tutoring, the organization also offers summer camps for kids, a community meal program, grocery bags of non-perishable foods, holiday meals, food baskets, and toy donations.

Established in 1993, The Salvation Army in Bellevue provides social services to families in need. The Eastside location serves neighbors in Bellevue, Redmond, Kirkland, Bothell, and Woodinville, and served more than 10,000 individuals in the community last year. With the expansion of its building and services in Bellevue, The Salvation Army expects to double the number of families served in the future. Leadership for the work in this area includes Lieutenants David and Joleen Aycock and Captains Darryck and Sierra Dwelle. Lts. David and Joleen Aycock graduated in June 2016 from The Salvation Army Officer Training College in Rancho Palos Verdes, CA, each with an Associate of Arts degree in Ministry. The Salvation Army’s mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Lt. Joleen Aycock said, “We are very excited to enter this appointment in Bellevue. We have a peace from God that this is exactly where He wants us. We are looking forward to what He is going to do on the Eastside.”
