Revolution Volleyball Camps at the University of Washington offers individualized volleyball training that includes drills, games, scrimmages, and game-based learning. Campers work on technical skills such as serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and digging, along with tactical skills like reading the play and making decisions at the right time. Each day also includes a dynamic warm up, agility and ball control work, small-sided games and competitions, team building activities, and an evening activity.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Each session runs Sunday to Wednesday (4 days and 3 nights for overnight camps), with Sunday check-in from 12–1PM and Wednesday pick-up at 4PM; Extended Day Campers check in 12–1PM Sunday and 9AM on other days, are picked up at 8:30PM Sunday–Tuesday and 4PM Wednesday.
• Price: Overnight Camp: $899. Extended Day: $749. Team discounts available.
During a typical day, campers have breakfast from 7:45–8:45AM, followed by extended day drop-off at 9:00AM, warmup and dynamic stretching from 9:00–9:15AM, technical skills development and position training from 9:15–10:45AM, small-sided games and competitions from 10:45–11:45AM, and a camp competition from 11:45AM–12:00PM. Lunch runs from 12:15–1:30PM, then warmup from 1:45–2:00PM, technical and tactical skills development and training from 2:00–3:30PM, controlled situational scrimmages and games from 3:30–4:00PM, a team building activity from 4:15–4:45PM, dinner from 5:00–6:15PM, and an evening activity from 6:30–8:30PM, with extended day pickup at 8:30PM and lights out at 10:00PM for overnight campers. Extended Day Campers have lunch and dinner included, and overnight campers receive about 6 or more hours of volleyball training each day, along with comfortable dorm room accommodations and all-you-can-eat buffet meals, according to the general program description. Campers are asked to bring all necessary volleyball equipment, such as knee pads and shoes, plus a refillable water bottle.
Revolution Volleyball Camps are open to all ages and ability levels within the stated range, and each camper is assessed and grouped with others of similar age and ability, with adjustments made throughout the week. The camp uses low camper-to-coach ratios and groups based on age and ability level. Each camper develops technical skills and tactical knowledge, participates in camp games with chances to win prizes, competes in small games and camp matches, and is given the opportunity to work with college and/or high school coaches and college players throughout the week.
The camp is part of the eCamps Sports Network, which has developed over 100,000 young athletes at camps nationwide since 2001. Session 1 Camp Director Haley Hoopes is a private volleyball trainer and coach at Cache Valley Volleyball Club, applies techniques and philosophies of Rob Nielson and Karch Kiraly, has played every position on the court, began her collegiate career as a libero at Utah State University where her team won the Mountain West Conference, became a JUCO All-American as an outside hitter, and continued playing at the College of Idaho where she served as team captain, was named 1st Team All-Conference in the Cascade Collegiate Conference, helped her team qualify for the National Tournament and finish in the top 20 out of 300+ volleyball programs, and was named Attacker of the Year for the College of Idaho beach volleyball team while earning 1st Team All-Conference. In high school, she earned Player of the Year honors after leading her team to the UHSAA State Championship and was a two-time Utah High School State Champion.
Session 2 Camp Director Kaitlyn Johnson is the head boys and girls volleyball coach at Dobson High School, where she has led the program to new winning records and first-place finishes at regional tournaments and has mentored numerous All-Region and All-State student-athletes. She serves as a coach for the Arizona All-State Program, has previously coached at Mesa High School and Skyline High School, and has led club volleyball teams in all age groups to tournament and regional championships. As a player, she was ranked 7th in Arizona as an outside hitter in high school, transitioned to the libero position at the collegiate level, and helped her club team achieve a 5th-place finish at the national championships.
Session 3 Camp Director Treva McUne is the director, coach, and college recruiting coordinator at Cache Valley Volleyball Club and has led teams to multiple top finishes in major national-level tournaments. She is the boys volleyball coach at Sky View High School and has coached men’s and women’s club volleyball at Utah State University for over 10 years, leading the Utah State men to a 4th-place finish in the nation. She has also coached at Logan High School and Club Idaho. As a player, she was a four-time varsity athlete, three-time state champion, two-time All-State and All-Area Team member, and Player of the Year in high school, then continued at the College of Southern Idaho, where the team won a national championship, and at Boise State University. She holds coaching certifications including USAV Impact, USAV Safe Sport, and AAU Positive Coaching Alliance and has been involved with volleyball camps for over 20 years, working with coaches and players from many colleges and national teams. Revolution Volleyball Camps state that they are committed to helping volleyball athletes of all skill levels reach elite levels of play whether in tournaments, scrimmages, college, or beyond.
