About
Whittier Kids Summer Camp offers weekly themes built around team projects, free choice stations, outside and gym play, weekly assemblies, and presentations and performances from special guests. Campers take part in activities such as Ren Faire, craft fairs, talent shows, silly sporting events, onsite mini-golf, tiny sculpting, cooking mini treats, quick and silly competitions, and role-playing favorite characters from sci-fi, comics, Disney, sports mascots, and D&D. Daily options include age-appropriate games ranging from Candy Land to D&D, art materials, pretend play props, sports equipment, books, building manipulatives, and tried and true crafts, along with active play time in the school playcourt and at a local park.

• Schedule: Ten camp sessions from June 23–August 29, 2025, with core hours 8:30 am–3:30 pm and optional extended care until 6:00 pm; one 3-day session and the remaining sessions as 5-day weeks
• Price: Mini Week (June 23–27): Core/$375, Ext Care/$80; Speedy Skills and Brain Buster Challenges (June 30–July 2): Core/$250, Ext Care/$50; all other 5-day sessions: Core/$375, Ext Care/$80
Whittier Kids Summer Camp offers weekly camps for kids in PreK–5th grade, and all kids entering K–5th grade in the fall are welcome. Preschoolers must be 3.5 years old and independent bathroom users before their first camp session, and the “It’s a Jungle in Here” session is for PreK–2nd grade only. Kid-approved weekly themes guide group and individual projects, with activities that support curriculum goals of promoting social, leadership, and team-building skills. Free choice station time is built into the daily schedule, and station materials are rotated frequently based on campers’ interests and engagement. Optional extended care, which can be registered for by the week, includes a mixture of outdoor activities, stations, and skill-building activities.
Whittier Kids is run by the Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA), a network of campuses throughout NW Seattle, and the PNA runs the Whittier Kids program within Whittier Elementary School. The PNA’s mission is to cultivate an inclusive community where every individual finds their place. Whittier Kids is licensed and monitored through the Department of Children, Youth and Families and voluntarily participates in School’s Out Washington’s program quality initiative. Decisions regarding curriculum goals and staff practices are guided by program assessment tools, as well as the PNA’s mission and values.
