Basketball campers work with Shoreline’s basketball team coaches and college players, and players are divided by level of play. Basketball camps are described as being for beginners, intermediate, and advanced players, and the Advanced High School Basketball Skills camp is for varsity players in grades 9–12 who are competitive and want to get ready to play for JV and varsity boys’ and girls’ teams. Volleyball Fundamentals is for athletes with less than 2 years of experience, and Volleyball Advanced Skills is for athletes with 2 or more years of club or high school experience. Soccer camps with Shoreline CC involve collegiate-level men’s and women’s coaches and team players in a structured, supportive environment, and Shoreline Women’s Soccer camps are led by Gordon Hill and coordinated with Shoreline College Women’s soccer coach Rory O’Connor.

Shoreline offers online STEAM camps in partnership with Black Rocket, whose programs focus on the intersection of creativity and technology and emphasize self-empowerment, cognitive reasoning, and divergent thinking through hands-on learning. Limited needs-based scholarships for the community are available for some partner camps upon request. Shoreline Community College is proud to offer these online STEAM camps in partnership with Black Rocket.

The leadership team for these camps includes Shoreline Community College Head Men’s Soccer Coach Obed Kouassi, former Manchester United legend and England international Gordon Hill, Shoreline College Women’s soccer coach Rory O’Connor, Shoreline’s Head Volleyball Coach Dan Le, Cascade Music camp instructor Dr. Jensina Oliver, Dr. Nicholas Tagab for the Piano Intensive, and Susan McIntyre for the Creative Kaleidoscope – Art, Music & Poetry Camp. Obed Kouassi was born and raised in Côte d’Ivoire, earned a scholarship to a U.S. college, began his formal coaching career in 2013 as an assistant coach at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, expanded his experience in 2017 coaching for Seattle Public Schools and West Seattle High School, and joined Shoreline Community College’s men’s soccer program in June 2023, transitioning from assistant to head coach. Gordon Hill holds a UEFA A License. Dr. Jensina Oliver hosts the “Creative Kaleidoscope – Art, Music & Poetry Camp” and “Piano Intensive,” and Dr. Nicholas Tagab is associated with the Piano Intensive camp.

Testimonials from Shoreline Community College students describe the campus as “super diverse” with “so many people and experiences you can engage with,” and mention seeing a Trans Day of Remembrance and Black Lives Matter art installation and “knowing there was a community here that would have my back.” Another testimonial encourages students not to be afraid of seeking help, to go to office hours often, and to “keep pushing” and “don’t give up.”
