About
Greentrike Summer Camps offers weekly sessions that include art, science, engineering, storytelling, and adventure activities. Each week features a fusion of these activities, and two Greentrike educators facilitate each camp class. Camps are described as collaborative learning experiences for early learners ages 3–7 years, and children must be toilet independent to attend, with no nap provided for Full Day Camp.
• Ages: 3–7 years old
• Schedule: Summer Camp Days Monday–Thursday, with each session running four days; Half Day Camp 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and Full Day Camp 9 a.m.–3 p.m., with sessions offered in date ranges from July 6–9 through August 24–27
• Price: Non-member price $375 per week for Full Day (9 a.m.–3 p.m.) and $225 per week for Half Day (9 a.m.–12 p.m.), with a 10% discount for members and scholarships on a sliding scale of 75%, 50%, and 25%
Families must provide a packed lunch each day and an afternoon snack if a child stays past 12 p.m., and are asked not to pack peanuts or other tree nuts. A morning snack of a grain, fruit, or vegetable is provided daily, classrooms are free of peanuts and tree nuts, and food allergies are accommodated. Campers are asked to bring a reusable water bottle labeled with their name, along with extra clothes and rain gear for outdoor and messy activities. Children of all abilities are encouraged to participate, but Greentrike does not provide 1:1 supervision for personal care. Priority registration for members begins February 18, 2026, with registration for the public beginning February 26, 2026, and all scholarships for summer 2026 have been filled. Payment is 50% refundable if cancellation is more than two weeks before the start of camp, non-refundable if less than two weeks before, and there are no credits, refunds, or prorated fees for absences or days not attended.
Greentrike’s mission is to honor children and youth and champion play, and play-based learning is emphasized across its programs. Greentrike is a nonprofit that advocates for and models equitable access to playful experiences for children, youth, and families, and it powers multiple programs including the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, the Children’s Museum at JBLM, Play to Learn, Preschool Powered by Play, Expanded Learning Opportunities, Cares Kits, the Monarch Diaper Bank, and other play-based learning experiences across Pierce County. Greentrike is celebrating 40 years of play for the Children’s Museum of Tacoma throughout 2025. In 2024, Greentrike received the top Fisher Service Award, which recognizes innovative nonprofits that improve the quality of life for military service members, veterans, and their families.
