About

Greentrike Summer Camps offer weekly sessions that include art, science, engineering, storytelling, adventure, and other play-based activities. Each camp class is facilitated by two Greentrike educators, and classrooms are free of peanuts and tree nuts. Families provide a packed lunch without peanuts or tree nuts, and campers bring a reusable water bottle, extra clothes, and rain gear for outdoor and messy activities.

• Ages: 3–7 years old
• Schedule: Summer camp days Monday–Thursday, with Half Day Camp from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. and Full Day Camp from 9 a.m.–3 p.m.; each session runs four days.
• Price: Non-member price per week is $515 for Full Day (9 a.m.–3 p.m.) and $365 for Half Day (9 a.m.–12 p.m.); members of the Children’s Museums of Tacoma and JBLM receive a 10% discount; a limited number of partial scholarships are available on a sliding scale of 75%, 50%, and 25%; payments are 50% refundable if canceled more than two weeks before the start of camp and non-refundable if canceled less than two weeks before, with no credits or prorated fees for absences.

Children must be toilet independent for both Half Day and Full Day camps, and no nap is provided, so children attend for a full and engaging day. A morning snack of a grain, fruit, or vegetable is provided each day, with food allergies accommodated, and families provide an afternoon snack for children staying past 12 p.m. Children of all abilities are encouraged to participate, and Greentrike does not provide 1:1 supervision for participants needing assistance with personal care.

Greentrike’s mission is to honor children and youth and champion play. Greentrike is a nonprofit that advocates for and models equitable access to playful experiences for children, youth, and families, and it powers the Children’s Museum of Tacoma, the Children’s Museum at JBLM, Play to Learn, Preschool Powered by Play, Expanded Learning Opportunities, Cares Kits, the Monarch Diaper Bank, and other play-based learning experiences across Pierce County. In 2024, Greentrike received the top Fisher Service Award, and in 2025 Greentrike is celebrating 40 years of play for the Children’s Museum of Tacoma. Priority registration for members begins February 24, 2025, and registration for the public begins February 28, 2025.
