Clark County Youth Football has operated since 1983 and describes itself as Clark County Washington’s premier, progressive youth football league and Clark County’s longest running, most established youth football program, with 43 years proudly serving the children of Clark County. The program states that everyone is welcome to play from kindergarten through 8th grade, with age and grade divisions, including a 3rd & 4th Grade Rookie Tackle Division, a 5th & 6th Grade Junior Tackle Division, and separate 7th and 8th grade tackle divisions if registration numbers support them. The FLEX program remains an option for 3rd and 4th graders, and there is a girls-only flag division for girls in grades K–8.

The program’s mission states that it has always been about giving the players a safe, positive football experience, with the motto “Kids First and Winning Second.” The mission also states that the program is dedicated to continued growth and to allowing more young athletes to play football, with the belief that “Most Teams Help People Become Better Athletes, But the Best Teams Help Athletes Become Better People.” The program notes that there are no maximum or minimum player weight restrictions, that all players play, that mandatory play rules and rotations ensure playing time in every game for everyone, and that teams are not hand picked by coaches.

Teams are assigned by the geographical boundaries of the public school district that players will attend, and children play with classmates and neighborhood friends to create a feeder program for the high schools they will attend. All tackle games are officiated by the Evergreen Football Officials Association, which is the same officials association that works high school games. Coaches receive certification through USA Football, NFHS, and first aid/CPR, and all coaches are cleared by national NCSI and WSP background checks.

The league uses a digital management system through SportsEngine for registration, rostering, league communications, and team communications, and families can download the app for up-to-the-minute updates about the league or their team. In-person registrations are cash or check only, with payment due at the time of registration. The program refers to itself as “The Best Game in Town.”
