About
iNSL Esports Camps & Courses uses popular games and esports platforms so student teams can play with League of Legends games, crank up their League of Legends and Fortnite games, and play with MLB The Show 21 Stadium Creator. Participants work on hands-on projects such as designing augmented reality apps, creating mobile gaming peripherals with console-driven esports games, and using kit materials to prototype electronics projects like an iRacing Button Box or a controller adapted from simple materials. Teams of 2–4 students blend gaming with design engineering projects, including creating a Drone Gate for showcase or competition, designing and prototyping a working wheel and pedal set and an entire driving rig, and designing “Green” stadiums of the future with MLB Baseball and augmented reality apps with Madden Football.
• Price: $458.23 $480.00 for Esports 101 - Drone Gate Challenge Course; $458.23 $380.00 for T.E.A.M.S. Game Tech Electronics Kit - CLUB
The program includes activities such as creating a T.E.A.M.S. identity and brand, accepting the War Cry Wearables Design Challenge while playing Fortnite esports, and designing wearable technology with League of Legends and Fortnite. Participants also engage in project management and planning for their T.E.A.M.S., public relations and marketing for their T.E.A.M.S., and a Peripherals Project that involves learning about electrical and coding connections in gaming. All camps include five guides for team building and exploration specific to the selected games, which can be done in sequence or as individual stand-alone modules, and the online curriculum has five modules with suggested prototyping materials lists and optional kits. Each student receives an individual login for self-paced exploration, and a counselor or facilitator can access the curriculum and project it onto a big screen to lead the camp each day, with login packages that include 12 or 24 site licenses for the curriculum.
Members have access to all lessons, stories, videos, activities, and PressPlay Web Camps online, and teachers customize materials for registered students, with new resources added every month. Options include a single web camp for individual kids or a Group All Access Pass to support home and small-group learning, and packages are available for educators and districts. The equipment setup for teams includes access to a laptop, PC, or Chromebook to access the curriculum and create projects, checking esports computers, consoles, and other equipment, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and setting up a prototyping table for working on hands-on projects while making sure computers and consoles meet published game requirements. Each curriculum includes a Design Engineering Data Driven Challenge that can be entered in the International STEM League for awards, and iNSL states its mission as “Launch the next generation of data driven global problem solvers!” The leadership team includes contacts for Sales and Events (Iliana Gonzalez | 305-710-1067), Programs (Jeannie Ruiz | 971-930-9388), and Professional Development (Beverly Simmons | 564-653-5152).
