Medallion Art School offers classes where students work in drawing, pastels, oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Classes are limited in size, and students work on their own projects with individualized instruction based on each student’s abilities and progress. Beginning to advanced courses are offered for ages 5 through adult, and art supplies are available for purchase or students may bring their own, subject to approval.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Day and evening classes are available with classes offered Monday through Saturday, including four 1 1/2 hour classes for 5-year-olds and four two-hour classes for ages 6 through adult; make-up classes are allowed for any missed regular classes.
• Price: $65 for four 1 1/2 hour classes for 5-year-olds (drawing pad and kit $20); $84 for four two-hour classes for ages 6 through adult (drawing pad and kit $40); $74 for four two-hour classes for seniors 60+, active duty military, police, fire and EMS families, and home school students (Mon.–Fri. before 4:00 pm only); classes must be paid for in advance; gift certificates are always available.
Medallion Art School is owned and operated by internationally recognized artist Judi Whiting, along with her husband, Bob. All instructors are highly trained artists and teachers who are experienced in a variety of media. According to the program’s mission, Judi has developed a method of teaching, based on her many years as a professional artist, gallery owner, and art school owner/operator, in which classes are instructional yet enjoyable and help students gain confidence and self-esteem through pride in their accomplishments.
