Jim Parsley Community Center Aquatics & Youth Programs offers swim lessons, public swim, a rock wall, a gym, lifeguard training, CPR training, youth summer camp, and pool rentals. Swim lessons are described as designed to fit any age group and ability, and registration for all upcoming swim lesson sessions opens at 12pm the day after the final class of the current session. Youth summer camp registration begins on Friday May 1st.
• Schedule: Jim Parsley Community Center hours are Friday 4:00pm–7:00pm, Saturday 9:00am–7:00pm, and Sunday 12:00pm–3:00pm; Propstra Aquatic Center hours are Monday–Friday 7:00am–1:00pm; pool rentals are available Saturday 7:30pm–8:30pm, Sunday 3:30pm–4:30pm, and Monday–Friday 12:00pm–1:00pm beginning June 22nd
• Price: The cost to rent the pool is $150 for up to 30 swimmers.
Pool rentals include pool space only, with no party room available for food or gifts at this time, and the rental responsible party must read and accept rental terms and conditions upon purchasing a reservation. New 12:00pm–1:00pm pool rentals are available Monday–Friday beginning June 22nd, and reservations must be made by the Thursday before the scheduled rental date. International Lifeguard Training is offered to persons 15 years of age and older. For rock wall and gym schedules, participants are instructed to bring their own equipment in good condition.
The Jim Parsley Education, Family and Community Center opened in 2001 and is owned and operated by Vancouver Public Schools. The center is named for Jim Parsley, who served as superintendent of Vancouver Public Schools from 1980 to 2002. The Jim Parsley Community Center pool is planned to be sunset in August 2026 as part of budget reductions, and programs are being moved to the Propstra pool.
