Kids Fun and Drama (KFAD) is a non-profit children's theatre group where kids take part in acting, singing, and dance. Participants work on two musicals each year, one in the spring and one in the fall, and may also join classes or workshops offered at other times. The program also includes outreach programs, fundraisers, community events, and Christmas caroling each winter, along with an annual summer camp in August.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Registration for the spring production is usually in late January or early February, registration for the fall production happens in August, and the annual summer camp takes place in August.
• Price: Tuition is $200 per student and includes theatre instruction, script, and costume, with a $50 discount for families who pledge to volunteer 10 hours during the show season.
KFAD is supported by a professional staff that includes a director, pianist, choreographer, costume designer, set and lighting designers, and parent volunteers. Part of the KFAD mission is to make the program available to all interested kids, and scholarships are available. The organization is supported with funds from the American Rescue Plan Act provided by the National Endowment for the Arts and granted through the Wisconsin Arts Board. Volunteer opportunities are available for the spring production, and the program is interested in connecting with possible directors, music directors, choreographers, technical directors, accompanists, and teachers to work with in the future. Studio office hours are Monday closed; Tuesday 4–7 pm; Wednesday closed; Thursday 4–7 pm; Friday closed; Saturday 11 am–2 pm; and Sunday 11 am–2 pm, with times subject to change outside of the production season.
