Hendricks CareerTek offers activities such as career exploration, job shadow experiences, youth apprenticeships, resume and cover letter writing, finance, Biz Tank, Craftsmen & Women of Character, and college support that includes application assistance, essay writing, and FAFSA preparation. The program also offers Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training, healthcare exploration, SCRUBS, field trips, special events, Dare To Dream, Today’s Dreamers Tomorrow’s Leaders, Innovation Sprint, Summer Academies, Explore Health Care, Explore Innovation, Engineering Club, Explore Trades, and opportunities to tour its facilities and watch videos featuring conversations with professionals about their careers and how interested students might prepare themselves.

• Ages: 11–18 years old
• Schedule: General program hours run September 1–May 28, Monday–Thursday 9am–6pm and Friday 8am–2pm, with summer hours June 1–August 31, Monday–Friday 8am–4pm; specific offerings include multi-week clubs and four-session series.

Hendricks CareerTek states its mission as providing career exploration, career development, and career opportunities to youth in the Greater Beloit community. The program offers 23 career exploration Summer Academies to students in 6th–12th grades. Leadership for Hendricks CareerTek includes Executive Director Susan Day, Career Pathway Director Will Davis, Director of Career Development Kelly Bosen, and Office Manager Sharon Vegter. It is described as an exciting initiative by the Hendricks Family Foundation, and the facility represents a commitment by the Hendricks Family and other leaders to innovation and education for students, including making known the career opportunities that exist in the Greater Beloit community and offering hands-on exploration through activities such as the Dare To Dream Community Construction Zone event, which includes areas like carpentry, concrete, masonry, demolition, surveying, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, paving, precast, roofing, heavy equipment, cranes, fire protection, and building design.

Community involvement includes responding to a need in the Greater Beloit region for career development and education for area youths, Partnerships For Community Youth, connecting businesses and employers, business partnerships, and equipping the next generation. The program also offers College / Trade / Apprenticeship Scholarships with an application window open until March 31, 2023. Testimonials describe CareerTek as being about exposure, exploration, and opportunity with hands-on exploration, creating opportunities for more youth of the Stateline to achieve “Great Futures,” guiding and molding students without forcing them into something they do not want to be, and focusing on the success of students while also supporting businesses.
