About
Camp Timber-lee offers summer camps, WinterXtreme weekend winter retreats, Outdoor Education, and year-round retreats that include activities such as ziplining, campfire devotions, horseback riding, and science exploration. Week-long sessions are described as being filled with outdoor adventures, Bible studies, and friendships.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Week-long sessions
Since 1947, Camp Timber-lee has operated as a faith-based camp, beginning as Camp Willabay in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, and moving to its current 550-acre site 25 years later. Its stated mission is “To create engaging communities where each young person encounters Christ through a dynamic camp experience.” The camp describes itself as Christ-centered, with every activity, including ziplining and campfire devotions, connected to deepening campers’ relationship with God. It offers Outdoor Education as hands-on learning in what it calls a 600-acre classroom, along with year-round retreats and WinterXtreme weekend winter retreats for youth groups.
Camp Timber-lee notes that it has dedicated staff committed to guiding children on their spiritual journey while attending to their safety and well-being. The name “Timber-lee” is explained as combining “Timber,” symbolizing firmness, and “Lee,” meaning safety from the wind, and the camp is described as a steadfast and safe haven for those who come there. Supporters are invited to partner with Camp Timber-lee through donations that make it possible for thousands of kids to experience its programs and for the camp to share Christ’s love with campers year-round.
One camper, Sierra, says, “My time at camp has impacted me spiritually. No matter when or what I’m going through–the speakers, staff, and friends I make are always there for me.” Another camper, Abigail, shares, “I felt like I met Jesus in a personal way for the first time at camp. I’m so thankful for a place that fosters so much opportunity for building a deeper relationship with Jesus and others!” A camper parent, Chris, states, “Simply put, it is almost unbelievable that a place like this exists. The world would be a better place if there were more Timber-lees.”
