Legacy Academy Youth Programs started in September 2007 and has been serving families in the Madison, Verona, and Fitchburg, Wisconsin metro area since 2007. The Legacy Academy Activity Center is owned and managed by Tom Baggot, a University of Wisconsin graduate with a B.S. in economics. The stated mission is to serve as a social and meeting place for member families and to make entertaining and enjoyable youth activity programs available to area families at reasonable prices.

These youth programs mainly serve resident families in the Madison metro area, including Madison, Fitchburg, and Verona, and are also available to the general public living outside the greater Madison area. Transportation to Legacy Academy is available for students of Stoner Prairie Elementary School and VAIS Schools in Verona, and the academy serves as a field trip destination for youth groups and other organizations based in the Madison area. Visiting field trip groups are welcome to bring lunches or snacks, and on-site supervision by an adult relative or nanny is required for children under age 7 during Youngsters Open Gym. Legacy reserves the right to take photos and videos of children and adults at the academy, and these recorded likenesses may be used in media or advertisements at the academy’s discretion without notice or compensation.

Legacy Academy is described as one of the largest children’s recreation venues in Dane County and can accommodate parties of up to 80 attendees for events such as birthday parties, baby showers, holiday parties, family reunions, neighborhood gatherings, teen parties, and other special group events. For Youngsters Open Gym, there is no charge for supervising adults or tots under the age of one, and punch cards offer a 20% discount off the regular admission fee.

Parent and child testimonials report that one parent with two children in the After School Program likes the diversity of children and choices and that Legacy Academy buses her kids from school to the facility. Another parent with three children attending Legacy Academy says it is convenient and that his kids get really engaged with the range of activities offered. A parent whose son and daughter are regulars says they are always having fun and never want to come home. A parent who has been bringing her son for five years says everyone is really friendly and that her son particularly likes the Summer Program with its field trips. A group of girls describe Legacy Academy as having lots of things to do and highly recommend The Castle, and another parent whose boys have been attending for five years says they love the activities and that she feels they are always safe and having a great time.
