Hickory Hill Academy, 1719 S. High Point Road, Madison, WI 53719
About
Highlander Skill Camps offers football, volleyball, and basketball camps that include skill-building drills and game-time experience. Young athletes train with top-tier coaches in a high-energy environment, with each camp featuring elite-level coaching from current and former collegiate athletes, including Wisconsin Badger athletes.
• Ages: 8–13 years old
Highlander Skill Camps are part of Hickory Hill Academy, which opened a new 50,000-square-foot K–8 building with dedicated classrooms for art, science, and music, a full gymnasium, and an indoor garden. Each camp features elite-level coaching, with players learning from current and former collegiate athletes and Wisconsin Badger athletes. The program is connected to a school whose mission is to cultivate compassionate leaders through a focus on campus, community, and curriculum, and whose community is guided by L-E-A-D-E-R-S values. The leadership team includes Matt Dahl, HHA President and Owner; Dr. Sandra Dahl and Dr. Will Dahl, founders of Kids Express Learning Center; and Heather (Dahl), a leader with a background in education. Through the non-profit Friends of HHA, the school offers funds toward student scholarships and teacher professional development. Parents have described HHA as a place where teachers are communicative, kind, and focused on student success, and where staff use programs such as “Morning Mission” and “Lunch Bunch” and personal interests like a child’s favorite baseball team to help children connect with the school community.
