Nagawicka Sailing School offers sailing classes that include a parent & child sailing class, a competitive Opti team, regattas, a club race series, a Learn-to-Race class, and a Rules and Flag Session. The program also offers a WOWWW (Women on Water with Wine) class, which is for women by women and is meant to be laid back, fun, and designed to spend time on the water. Teen 420 classes use the same boat used for college racing, and the X boat used in the program is unique to the Midwest and is only sailed on inland lakes in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa.

• Schedule: Adult classes meet on either Monday or Wednesday evenings from 6–8:30pm; WOWWW (Women on Water with Wine) is a 1 day class.
Nagawicka Sailing School is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching children and adults lifelong skills of sailing, good sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie. Kids that sail in this program are immersed in STEM related activities, and sailing in the program draws on science, engineering, and physics. The sailing school offers classes for ages 6 through adult at the beginner level or for those that want to improve skills up to the advanced racer level. All classes are coached by sailors who have extensive sailing experience, and the youth coaches are US Sailing Level One Certified and are active members of the racing community. The junior sailing program feeds into adult sailing when the children age out at 16 in the calendar year. The sailing school program is run by volunteers, and the Nagawicka Sailing School program is designated as a non-profit 501(c)(3).
Nagawicka Sailing School is part of the Nagawicka Lake Yacht Club, which has a vibrant social calendar full of events geared towards families and some events for adults only. NSS highly encourages membership to the Nagawicka Lake Yacht Club for the full sailing and socializing experience and invites people to attend fundraisers throughout the summer.
Nagawicka Sailing School was founded in 2023 as a 501(c)(3). Sharon has taught the adult classes since 2005. The leadership team includes Jana Petersen-Pingel as Sailing School Director and Sharon Kraklow as Adult Coach and president of Nagawicka Sailing School, and Jana is currently the VP for the newly formed Nagawicka Sailing School.
