About
Nike Basketball Camp Madison Area Technical College includes basketball instruction along with classroom sessions on leadership, mindset, basketball principles of play, and film. Campers take part in court sessions that feature small-group instruction, innovative drills, and competitive play. Each day combines classroom and on-court time focused on basketball concepts and practice.

The camp is co-ed and open to both boys and girls. Each day includes two classroom sessions on leadership, mindset, basketball principles of play, and film, and two court sessions where campers apply what they learned in a fun, challenging, and competitive environment. There is a daily emphasis on fundamental development and team play, along with discussion of nutritional goals and off-court activities that relate to on-court performance. All summer campers receive a Nike Basketball Camp t-shirt and other prizes.
The camp director, Nate Sanderson, brings more than 24 years of coaching experience and has served as a head varsity coach at four Iowa high schools: Louisa-Muscatine, Springville, Linn-Mar, and Mount Vernon High School. He has led teams to three state championships (Springville 2016 and 2017; Mount Vernon 2025) and five appearances in the state semifinals. He was recognized as the 1A Coach of the Year three times (2015, 2016, 2017) and 3A Coach of the Year in 2025. He previously served as Director of Product Development at Breakthrough Basketball and is currently an Executive Director of the Iowa Basketball Coaches Association. He co-hosts the Coaching Culture Podcast, regularly mentors high school and college coaches and athletes nationwide, holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University, and is pursuing a Professional Coaching Certificate through New Ventures West with a focus on executive coaching for athletic coaches and athletes. During the 2025–26 season, he served as a consultant and analyst for the Cornell College Women’s Basketball program.
