Milestones Early Educational Community offers early childhood education with a child-driven, self-guided curriculum. The program bases its approach on the principles of respect, responsibility, and community, and values each child's unique background and culture while creating a learning space where everyone feels a sense of belonging.
• Ages: 6 weeks–12 years old
• Schedule: Weekday child care with full-day hours available Monday–Friday
The program serves children through nationally accredited, five-star rated child care centers that are also Pyramid Model implementation sites. Staff at Milestones Early Educational Community are committed to Pyramid Model practices and intentionally build strong relationships, support social-emotional growth, and guide children with patience, empathy, and respect.
Milestones Early Educational Community is owned by Arnie Swoboda, who has a degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire, and Kerry Swoboda, who has a Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on mental health from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and a professional background in social work, child development, and child therapy. The director, Jamie Saxton, has completed Early Childhood Education classes at Chippewa Valley Technical College. Lead and assistant teachers hold or are pursuing degrees and coursework in areas such as Early Childhood Education, Child Care Services, Human Development and Family Studies, Elementary and Middle School Education, Special Education, and Art Education, with several staff members currently enrolled in related college programs or completing high school with plans to study Early Childhood Education.
Parents describe the staff as a “second family” and note that their children have attended since infancy and continue to enjoy the program years later.
