About

Mequon-Thiensville Recreation Department Youth Programs are part of the Mequon-Thiensville Recreation Department, which offers a wide variety of programs and classes for all ages. The programs operate under a Recreation Department Code of Conduct for players, coaches, and spectators, with sportsmanship at the forefront of youth sports programs. Families can access an Online Registration & Account Management Guide, a printable Recreation Department Activity Guide, a Financial Assistance Application, information for volunteers including online background checks, information about concussions and a Concussion Waiver form, and the 2026 Summer Youth Program START Calendar.

• Schedule: Recreation Office hours: M-F 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

The Mequon-Thiensville School District oversees the community’s recreation department, which includes these youth programs. The department states that all citizens should have the opportunity to participate in recreation programs regardless of financial status, and program registration fees are set annually by the Mequon-Thiensville Recreation Department. Background screens for volunteers are required and conducted via an online provider, and volunteers provide supplemental support to teachers and students and add human resources to enrich the educational experience. The department notes that engaging the community through meaningful relationships fosters trust and accountability.

The leadership team includes Matthew Vanderkamp, CPRP, Recreation Director; Mike Schoemer, CPRP, Recreation Supervisor - Youth Programs; Elisa Salvo-Antonie, Recreation Supervisor - Kids' Campus & 4K Wrap Program Director; Chris Apel, Recreation Supervisor - Adult Programs and Community Events; Danielle Hood, Administrative Assistant; and Frances Salud, Assistant Recreation Supervisor - Kids' Campus & 4K Wrap. Both Matthew Vanderkamp and Mike Schoemer hold the CPRP credential. The role of the M-T Recreation Department is to create a closer partnership between school and community through greater use of school facilities and resources. The department also seeks people with a passion to share skills and knowledge with youth or adults, with opportunities to volunteer skills or start a side career at M-T Recreation. Winter/Spring 2026 registration is noted as open.
