Little Red Preschool

Founded over 35 years ago, Little Red Preschool has 10 classrooms and 6 playgrounds, including a Nature Playground, a summer garden, and a communal chicken coop. The facilities are described as homey and child-friendly, with a chicken coop and veggie garden on site. The program serves children ages 24 months through 11 years across 10 programs and notes unusually low staff turnover. Teachers and staff are carefully selected for their training, their ability to work in a loving and caring way with children, their skills and special talents, and their professional commitment to providing high quality play and learning experiences for each child. The program states that learning to share, taking turns, increasing attention span, encouraging creativity, mastering school readiness skills, and developing a positive sense of self are goals of its programs, and that it believes the world of the child is play and that through play children learn. Little Red Preschool is licensed, accredited, and 5-star rated, has been accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children since 1997, and is 5-star rated by YoungStar, Wisconsin’s child care quality rating and improvement system. The program notes that 4K is offered only at its Cross Plains location, that enrollment is open for Summer 2026 and the 2026–2027 school year, and that Little Red Preschool is open for personal tours.
