About

Kiddie Kampus Preschool and Daycare offers early childhood education and care where most learning is provided through play. The program includes infant care in Kiddie Kradle, also called the “Baby House,” as well as age-specific rooms such as Farm 1, Farm 2, the Jungle Room, the Ocean Room, the Forest Room 4-K Program, and an After-School Program. The program is based on the objectives of the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS) and focuses on the needs of the whole child.

• Ages: 0–11 years old

Kiddie Kradle (“Baby House”) is separated from the main building to provide a quiet, home-like atmosphere for infants. Farm 1 serves children 12–17 months old as they experience new toys, new routines, new foods, and new friends. Farm 2 serves children 18–24 months old in an environment where they are guided with praise during their day. The Jungle Room serves 2-year-olds who are developing increased independence while still being nurtured. The Ocean Room serves 3-year-olds and combines kindergarten readiness activities with a creative environment. The Forest Room 4-K Program provides a setting where children are guided with praise during their day at Kiddie Kampus.

The Kiddie Kampus After-School Program is structured to assist each child in reaching individual goals physically, mentally, and socially. Children can attend after school, during school closings, on half days, on full days, and in an organized summer program. After school, children are transported to the middle school, ride the Kiddie Kampus bus, and a teacher rides with them from the middle school to Kiddie Kampus to support safety and security.

Kiddie Kampus Preschool and Daycare states that its mission is to offer a nurturing and stimulating environment with a focus on each individual child’s unique needs and abilities at a developmentally appropriate level. The program emphasizes communication with peers and adults, respect for others, and embracing cultural and physical differences. It states that it aims to enhance children’s love for learning to support future years of education and to be a “home away from home” where children grow, learn, and play. The program is community-based and offers childcare to families in Watertown and beyond.

Kiddie Kampus is identified as one of a small number of 5-Star Providers in Wisconsin’s YoungStar child care quality rating and improvement system. The program’s materials include a copyright notice dated 2018 for Kiddie Kampus Preschool and Daycare. A parent testimonial from Kayce Board describes Kiddie Kampus as more than just a daycare and refers to it as a second home where her child receives care along with a learning environment.
