Kohl’s Kicking, Punting, and Long Snapping Camps began in 2000, when Jamie Kohl started the camps with his father John Kohl and brother Andy Kohl, with a mission statement dated January 2000. The mission statement says the goal is to help every motivated athlete attain their maximum level of performance in kicking, punting, and snapping, to teach correct techniques and practice habits, to assist athletes who prove to be talented enough to move up to the next level in football, and to run camps and private lessons so each athlete gains from the staff’s expertise and insight, with the aim that each Kohl’s athlete is more prepared to succeed in football and in life. The leadership team includes Jamie Kohl as Camp Director; Casey Casper as National Lead Long Snapping Coach & Evaluator; Luke Radke as National Lead Coach & Evaluator; Bret Culbertson as National Lead Coach & Digital Media; and Heidi Epperson as Registration & Logistics Manager.

Kohl’s Kicking Camps states that it provides the most in-depth training for high school kickers, punters, and long snappers in the state of Minnesota, with professional coaches in the area and annual training camps in Minneapolis during the summer, and it has the most full-time coaches in the industry. Coach Jamie Kohl trains many current NFL starters, ranks athletes nationally for Kohl’s and ESPN, and is a former full-time kicking consultant for the Chicago Bears and currently for the Carolina Panthers. Coach Casey Casper is the national lead long snapping coach for Kohl’s Snapping Camps and handles Kohl’s National Long Snapper Rankings and the ESPN snapper rankings. Coach Luke Radke has coached many kickers and punters to success at the high school, collegiate, and NFL levels and plays a large role in the Kohl’s National Rankings process, ESPN’s annual evaluations, and Under Armour All-American team selections. Coach Bret Culbertson has coached thousands of athletes across the nation to success at the high school, collegiate, and NFL levels and serves as the Kohl’s digital media and video coordinator.

Kohl’s Kicking Camps describes itself as America’s #1 camp and the largest stage in America for kickers, punters, and long snappers. It is the only camp trusted to rank specialists for ESPN and to choose specialists for the Under Armour All-America Game, and its evaluations are described as the national standard to college coaches across the nation. The program reports that 69 Kohl’s athletes started in NFL regular season games in 2021, that every Division I FBS football program has a Kohl’s athlete on its roster, that 85 athletes played in the 2025 NFL preseason, and that there is an average of 4 Kohl’s athletes on FBS Division I rosters. The program states that it trains college and pro athletes year-round, including those who have played in Pro Bowls and Super Bowls, and that Kohl’s Kicking is chosen by elite NFL, collegiate, and high school specialists for training and exposure. It also states that it invests time, money, and resources to actively maintain relationships with college coaches, and that its showcase camps are widely considered by college coaches as the standard for kicking, punting, and long snapping evaluations in college recruiting. A testimonial from Dustin Hopkins, an NFL kicker and 12-year NFL veteran, says, “You come here and you get better with some of the best people in the country. They want you to succeed in every facet, whether that’s football, or life in general.”
