Woodson YMCA Youth Programs include activities such as Swim Lessons, Lifeguard Certification, CPR/AED & First Aid Classes, Mini-Movers, Jr. Gymnastics, Gymnastics, Tumbling, Performance Training, Homeschool, Karate, Black Belt Club, Kids Cooking Classes, Tri-Sport Camp, Y Star Youth Basketball, Group Exercise Classes, Yoga, Water Exercise Classes, Small Group Training, Personal Training, and Massage Therapy. Y Star Youth Basketball meets on Saturday mornings, and Tri-Sport Camp meets on Monday and Tuesday evenings in March. Swim Lessons are offered in a Winter 2 session from February 16 to March 28.

• Price: $15/Month for Members for Unlimited Yoga; $5/Month for Members + $20 Key Fee for 24 Hour Access at the Aspirus Branch Wellness & Strength Center

The Woodson YMCA’s history in Wausau dates back to 1891, with its first building completed in 1893 and later expansions and renovations in 1907, the late 1950s, 1962, 1978, 1990, 1994, 2004–2005, and 2014. The organization’s mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Woodson YMCA and Mosinee Creske Community Aquatics Center partner to add additional opportunities for community programming, and the Y For All Annual Campaign and scholarship program rely on donations to provide memberships and scholarships regardless of economic status.

Rose Hansen serves as Mosinee Aquatics Director and Aquatics Director for the Mosinee Community Pool, and she holds a degree in Health Promotion and Wellness from the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point. She has been involved with YMCAs across the Midwest, has been a competitive swimmer for many years, and has stated that she is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all who use the Mosinee Pool. The program also notes unique features such as 24/7 workout access at the Aspirus Branch, free group and water exercise classes for members, The Landing senior activity center, a 55+ North Wellness Center with its own gym space, and 55+ programs that include games, social groups, off-site adventures, health, educational, travel, and birthday activities.
