About
The Irish Cultural Center Summer Youth Program includes activities in sport, STEM, and music. The program has Irish and Celtic roots, and activities are organized to enhance friendships and focus on learning about Irish and Celtic culture. No prior experience is needed for any of the activities.
• Ages: 6–17 years old
• Schedule: Four youth weeks from June 2 through June 27, Monday–Friday from 9am–3pm for ages 6–11, plus one teen week June 23–27, Monday–Friday from 9am–3pm for ages 12–17
• Price: Teen Camp – $200
The program is entering its fifth year of offerings. The four youth weeks each have a theme: June 2–6 is Culture Week, June 9–13 is Theatre Week, June 16–20 is Dance Week, and June 23–27 is Music Week and Teen Week. The Irish Cultural Center was founded in 1999, and The McClelland Library first opened in October of 2012.
The ICLF Summer Youth Program is an annual initiative that is supported through grants and community support. The Irish Cultural Center and McClelland Library are divisions of the Irish Cultural & Learning Foundation, a not-for-profit organization, and are part of a public/private partnership with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department. The ICLF acknowledges the support of the Emmigrant Support Programme of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade through the Irish Consulate in San Francisco, California.
A parent of a camper stated, “The Irish Cultural Center Summer Camp was perfect for my kids. I am so grateful. My kids made new friends and learned lots of interesting things they wouldn’t have learned anywhere else. Thank you to the staff for all your generosity and being so welcoming!”
