About
Rising Youth Theatre Arts Camps is a multi-arts camp that uses theatre as a lens to experience storytelling, performance, movement, visual art, writing, music, creative drama, acting, voice, design, and yoga. Younger students explore story and imagination through creative drama, taking on different characters and exploring fantastical worlds, while older students participate in a skills intensive focusing on acting, movement, voice, and design. Sessions culminate in a performance for friends and family for both younger and older students.
• Ages: 5–14 years old
• Schedule: Camp day runs Monday–Friday from 9am–3pm, with extended care available from 8am–9am and 3pm–5pm; Fall Break Arts Camp runs October 6–10, 2025 (Monday–Friday), with a performance for families at 12:30pm on the second Friday of each two-week session
• Price: Snacks are available for purchase for $1 each
Rising Youth Theatre is a youth leadership organization working at the intersection of art and social justice, and states that artmaking and storytelling are a catalyst for change. The organization states that students with disabilities and learning differences are welcomed into the program, and that every young person should be respected in their gender identity while it works to build an inclusive environment for all. The behavior policy is based on a restorative approach to managing conflict and discipline. Older students work with experienced teaching artists, and scholarships are always available, with a minimum of five scholarships per session of camp accepted and more available as registrations increase, reviewed on a rolling basis.
Campers are asked to bring a shelf-stable lunch and a water bottle each day, and it is recommended to send a snack, with the option to buy snacks for $1. Campers are not permitted to use the building vending machines during the camp day. They are welcome to bring a book or quiet activity for quiet time or extended care, and electronics can only be used during those times, with staff not responsible for missing or broken personal items. On Tuesdays campers do yoga and are asked to bring a yoga mat, with extras available and the option to leave mats at camp during the week, and families are asked to alert the team if a child uses electronic devices as a communication or therapeutic outlet necessary for participation in a class.
