State 48 FC states that its mission is to become the first soccer organization in Arizona that caters to the needs of youth by providing a complete ladder system for players to be introduced to soccer and develop in a safe and inclusive social environment, making a positive impact within the youth and soccer community. The program describes a local, family-centered approach backed by a national-level program and elite-level coaching, with a positive playing and learning environment that focuses on long-term player development and personal growth. It is organized around three pillars: Rec/Developmental, Competitive/Club, and UPSL/Semi-Pro. The recreation program offers soccer programs for players ages 3–14, and the recreational league focuses on developing skills, making friends, and falling in love with the game in a positive, family-first environment. The Youth Academy introduces players to a competitive environment while continuing to focus on development, and competitive teams play in organized leagues and compete in both local and out-of-area tournaments. Inclusive club benefits listed by the program include goalkeeper training, PP Academy, camps, a college advisory component, a path to pro through UPSL, and a Gold Level Program.
The club’s colors are black, white, and copper, in representation of State 48, the Copper State. Saguaros are used as a symbol for club families and pride for the club, and the sun symbolizes a dynamic soccer curriculum influenced by German, Spanish, and Greek mythology. The leadership team includes Heber Valenzuela (CEO), Katie Valenzuela (Club President/Founder), Roberto Beall (Club's General Manager), Stephanie Linkey (Club's Registrar), Leah Loftis (Lead Manager/Assistant Registrar), Marisa Niebla (Lead Treasurer), Rogelio Aragon (11v11 DOC West Valley), Matt Marek (College Advisory Program), Roberto B. (General Manager), and Mike M. (Recreational Manager). The program notes community involvement through inspiration from modern soccer programs around the world and partnerships with like-minded institutions, including local UPSL club Sporting Arizona FC and Arizona Sahuaros, which are described as helping put players in a position to succeed at a higher level. A testimonial describes State 48 FC as “One of the best Arizona Youth Soccer Clubs.”
