About

The School of Ballet Arizona offers ballet education that includes classical ballet technique, artistry, and performance opportunities. Students can take classes such as Pointe, Variations, Pas de Deux, Modern, Flamenco, Men’s class, Conditioning, and Creative Movement for Toddlers. The program also offers adult ballet classes and adult ballet workshops, as well as drop-in classes for toddlers, Children’s Division classes, adult classes, and Creative Aging for seniors at its Mesa campus.

Founded in 1986, The School of Ballet Arizona is the official training school of Ballet Arizona and offers programs for students of all ages and skill levels, from beginner to pre-professional. School Year programs include Children’s, Lower, and Upper Division, with School Year ages 4–21. Toddler Programs use props, songs, and games for children ages 18 months to 4, the Children’s Division (ages 4 and up) introduces the art of ballet and basic barre and center work, and the Lower Division (ages 8 and up) is divided into four levels with formal training in traditional classical ballet. Upper Division students meet 4–6 times a week and are introduced to a wider variety of classes, and the School of Ballet Arizona accepts international students for the Professional Program levels. Summer programs are available for dancers of all levels, from beginner to advanced, and Adult Drop-In Classes are open to teens age 14 and up and adults of all ages with Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced levels.

The School of Ballet Arizona includes a Studio Company, which is an elite training opportunity to prepare students of the highest rank to become professional dancers, and studio company dancers receive professional exposure, understudying, and company productions. All classes follow a unique syllabus of traditional classical ballet, and the school offers a wide variety of classes for every type of dancer. The program takes place in a state-of-the-art facility and a new campus in Mesa, and it has experienced faculty who bring professional expertise to the studio. Ballet Arizona’s mission is to ignite the human spirit through the magic of dance, and for over 35 years it has served Arizona communities based on the belief that the magic of a single performance has the ability to change lives.
