Tree Fort DTT Youth Program includes museum outings, cooking classes, sports and athletics, picnics and park outings, and art classes and programs. The program also offers structured activities at its four campuses along with career oriented training and events. It offers enriching after-school programming throughout the academic year and structured day programming during the summer, integrating center-based and community-based services.

Tree Fort DTT Youth Program is designed for teens and young adults ages 14–22 with developmental disabilities. It is designed for students who are still in school but are approaching a time when they will be exiting school. Participants go through vocational curriculum and explore future opportunities while practicing social skills and working toward their goals. Students engage in learning opportunities covering life skills, social skills, physical fitness, and the principles of healthy living. The program is described as a DTT after-school, school break, and summer program for youth ages 14 and up, and it is offered in Avondale, Phoenix, Casa Grande, and Maricopa.

The Opportunity Tree, which offers the Tree Fort DTT Youth Program, has over 61 years of history in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across Arizona. The organization that would eventually become The Opportunity Tree was created in 1963 and has been committed to providing quality, individualized support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities for 60 years. Its mission is to provide quality individualized supports to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in dynamic and innovative environments.

The Opportunity Tree has a Gold transparency rating from Candid and a 96% rating (four stars) from Charity Navigator. Alex is a member of the Avondale LEAF Program and an advocate for Tree Fort, and along with staff, he visits area high schools to tell students about The Opportunity Tree. The Opportunity Tree hosts the Fireslammers team, a Special Olympics team, and is a Fry’s Community Rewards Program Partner.
