About

The Arizonans for Children Mentor Program pairs foster youth one-on-one with qualified volunteer mentors. Mentors and youth spend time together through shared experiences, everyday conversations, community spaces, sports, games, crafts, community events, outings, and group events.

About the provider

Arizonans for Children has been helping foster children since 2002. Mentors may explore libraries and parks, play sports and games, do crafts, attend community events, festivals, and outings, support resume-building or college exploration, and join community and cultural enrichment opportunities through group events and donated tickets.

Mentors are matched one-on-one with school-aged foster youth based on shared interests, personality, and goals. Time commitment is 8 hours per month with a minimum one-year commitment. Children must be between 5 and 18 years old and placed within Maricopa County.
