About
EnCompass Four Corners (E4C) After-School & Camps includes a Waldorf-inspired Art Block with practical arts such as watercolors, clay, beeswax, and yarn for knitting and crocheting. The program offers movement through indoor and outdoor activities and games, homework help and completion, language time in Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish, and NatureScape. Children also participate in paddle boarding, kayaking, water rafting, Capoeira, Kung Fu, and Tinkering School projects that use real tools to solve real problems through team-designed, hands-on creations.

EnCompass Four Corners School (E4CS) launched in Fall 2022 as an independent, intersectional, Waldorf-inspired micro-school that includes the Micro-After-School Program (E4CA) and Micro-Camp (E4CC). The program describes Capoeira as an Afro-Brazilian martial art that is a symphony of self-defense, dance, and music, and describes Tinkering School as a place where children learn by doing with materials such as wood, metal, cardboard, and often paint. The island of Alameda serves as an extension of the classroom, and daily school pick-up is included in the cost for the After-School Program. E4C is a USA Kung Fu Studio service provider for students in grades 1st–5th from the Alameda Unified Elementary School District (AUSD).
The leadership team includes Founding CEO/Head of Cultivation Monique F. Brinson, M.S., Ed.M.; E4C After-School Coordinator Yilin “Max” Zhang; Coach Emily; Ms. Barbara; Mestre Pitts, founder of the Pitts Martial Arts Academy (PMAA); and Sifu Sunny, co-owner of US Shaolin Kung Fu. Monique Brinson is a graduate of Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) with an Ed.M. in Education Leadership, and her first master’s degree in education was in teaching from Boston University. The program’s mission states that all children are good and deserve guidance to make appropriate choices, and that all children can do important and powerful things when given the opportunity to fully develop within the rhythm of the learning day. E4C Vacation Camp is planned to commence in February 2026.
