The Busy Bee Activity Center

The Busy Bee Activity Center offers open play, indoor play, movement and fitness, creativity and STEAM activities, kid's fitness classes, classes for toddlers, drop-off events, no school camps, and kid's birthday parties. The center also offers gift cards that can be delivered straight to the recipient's inbox.

• Schedule: Closed Thursday; open on scheduled mornings from 09:30 am – 12:30 pm and for scheduled classes

The Busy Bee Activity Center states that its mission is to enrich the lives of children and families in the Alameda community through engaging, inclusive, and creative programs, and to serve as a welcoming hub where children can explore interests, discover new passions, and grow through play, learning, and connection. The mission also includes offering diverse classes, camps, and events in a space that supports families, celebrates individuality, and focuses on movement, creativity, and community. The center is a locally owned woman's business in Alameda and invites families to come by, say hi, and support the business.

The Busy Bee Activity Center is led by Ms. Rad (Annahita Rad), who has served Alameda kids in public education for nearly 15 years. Her experience includes roles as Director of Special Education at a local charter district, school site administrator in a variety of capacities since 2014, master teacher in the classroom for 6 years, and Principal. She holds a Master's in Education and a teaching credential from UC Davis, a BA from UCLA, and certifications in Business Administration through UC Berkeley and as a Conflict Mediator through the Restoring Civility Conflict Resolution Program in Los Angeles.
