Bay Area Kinderstube (BAKS) offers a full-immersion German-language preschool with play- and theme-based learning in a mixed-age setting. The program places emphasis on arts, music, and community. BAKS also offers BAKS+ after-school German classes and a summer camp.

- General schedule: Newly enrolled children start at the beginning of each school year. For Fall 2026, application forms are due 2026-01-31 and enrollment takes place in February. The 2026–2027 school year runs 2026-08-24 to 2027-05-28.
About the provider
The program is directed by Rabea Walker. It is licensed to serve a maximum of 30 children per day, and it employs 2 full-time and 5 part-time teachers for a 1:6 ratio throughout the day. The BAKS community includes an annual Laternenfest celebration and a semi-annual camping trip organized by volunteer parents.
Newly enrolled children must be at least 2.5 years old at the start of the school year. Preference is given to returning families or children of BAKS staff. Other criteria are German language skills, age, general fit, and desired schedule.
