About
Bay Area Kinderstube is a full-immersion German-language preschool where children learn in a mixed-age environment through play- and theme-based learning. The program includes arts and music, as well as an annual celebration of Laternenfest, a traditional German holiday. Families also have the option to join a semi-annual camping trip that is organized by volunteer parents.
• Ages: 2–5 years old
Bay Area Kinderstube is licensed to serve a maximum of 30 children per day and maintains a 1:6 ratio throughout the day. The mission of the program is to make German language development an integral part of the social, emotional, and cognitive development of the child. The director of Bay Area Kinderstube is Ute Dawe. The community includes many cultures and ethnicities and has a strong culture of volunteerism, with events such as the annual Laternenfest drawing many families from beyond the school and creating a lively and engaged community. Families in the program can also take part in a semi-annual camping trip organized by volunteer parents.
