About

The Center of World Dance offers classes in Flamenco and Spanish dance, Ballet and Tap, Folklorico, Hip Hop, and Hula and Tahitian. The program is part of The Arte Flamenco Dance Theatre’s Center of Worldance and includes a dance school for both children and adults. It operates as a professional touring dance company that performs rarely seen and reconstructed historical Spanish Classical pieces, regional folk dances, and Flamenco, with programs that include castanets and authentic costumes from many regions of Spain. The studio closes on Christmas, New Years, Martin Luther King, Easter, Memorial Day, Mother’s Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Halloween.

Clarita is the artistic director of the Arte Flamenco Dance Theatre and is a dancer, singer, teacher, and choreographer with an extensive background in regional Spanish folk dances, Escuela Bolera (the original form of Spanish dance), and Flamenco. Clarita has been a member of the Segerstrom Performing Arts “ArtsTeach” program since 1995. She has been on the Artist Roster of the Segerstrom Performing Arts “ArtsTeach” program, The Cerritos Performing Arts Center Family Series, PSArts and the Los Angeles Unified School after school program, and has been a Guest Artist for Pasadena Unified School District’s LEARNs Program and LACMA at CSLA. Arte Flamenco has been featured in the PBS program “Avalon” with John Tesh and the Grammy award winning KNBC television show “Starting Over.”
