The training space is described as very clean and spacious, with personal instruction at every level. The program is led by founder and head instructor Erik “Compella” Cruz, a 3rd-degree 10th Planet black belt and Eddie Bravo black belt, along with co-founder Lila Smadja-Cruz, a 1st-degree 10th Planet black belt who leads 10th Planet Women’s Self Defense. The program follows Eddie Bravo’s 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu system and describes it as a revolutionary and dynamic no-gi approach to modern grappling. The kids’ offerings include a NanoTechs program for ages 4–6 that focuses on character, confidence, and first movements, and a Kids Jiu-Jitsu program that uses a structured 10th Planet system in a safe, disciplined environment with a structured curriculum, regular sparring, character and citizenship elements, and progression tracking. The community is described as inclusive, with participants ranging from first-day white belts to pro competitors, and the mission statement emphasizes training toughness, focus, and confidence while building strength, flexibility, and endurance.
