KidZCommunity Early Head Start and Head Start Preschool Programs

KidZCommunity Early Head Start and Head Start Preschool Programs offers early education programs and services for eligible families living in Placer and Nevada Counties. The program is rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and uses a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to teaching, learning, and reflection that promotes family engagement in children’s development, the program, and the community. The program serves pregnant women, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families, and serves organic foods grown in community gardens.

KidZCommunity Early Head Start and Head Start Preschool Programs has been providing an environment for success since 1969. Its mission is: “Through early education and family-centered support, we empower children to thrive, fostering school readiness and holistic growth for the entire family.” The program is funded by Head Start – Early Head Start. KidZCommunity embraces shared governance to support leadership and collaboration, and the Policy Council encourages parents to take an active role in shaping program decisions, gaining leadership experience, and advocating for children. The program strengthens connections between children, families, and the community.
