KidZCommunity Early Head Start and Head Start Preschool Programs

KidZCommunity Early Head Start and Head Start Preschool Programs offers Early Head Start Centerbased, Early Head Start Homebased, Head Start Preschool, and Family Child Care. The centerbased Early Head Start and Head Start programs operate Monday through Friday for 6.5 hours per day, and the Family Child Care option is in a family childcare home setting.

Programs

• Early Head Start Centerbased — birth to five years old · Monday through Friday, 6.5 hours per day
• Early Head Start Homebased — pregnant mothers and children birth to three years old
• Head Start Preschool — three to five years old · Monday through Friday, 6.5 hours per day
• Family Child Care — children · Family childcare home setting for children; the program partners with Placer County Office of Education (PCOE), Sierra Nevada Children’s Services (SNCS), and Childcare Partners (CCP).

The program has been serving families since 1969. Its mission is to empower children and their families to maximize their full potential through opportunities for growth and change. It is rooted in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and serves eligible families living in Placer and Nevada Counties. The program serves pregnant women, infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families, and it promotes healthy eating and serves organic foods grown in community gardens.
