Work of Art

Work of Art offers hands-on art workshops that include activities such as a Lino Block Printing Workshop, Cute Critter Planters, Ombre Paper Cut, a Wheel Throwing Workshop, Polymer Clay Stud Jewelry, and Picasso Painting. The program provides art instruction and working spaces for people who are creatively minded. Instructors cater the level of instruction to the skill level and artistic vision of their students and use their academic training to break down complex techniques into manageable steps.

• Price: The $35 workshop fee includes all material costs (including returning for an second session to glaze).

The Work of Art program describes itself as a vibrant, progressive venture where people of all abilities and interests can work side-by-side to discover their artistic voice. Work of Art is a subsidiary of Southside Unlimited, a 501c3 non-profit. Southside Unlimited is a non-profit that creates opportunities for artistic expression, personal progress, and active citizenship for adults with developmental disabilities. Work of Art states that it has begun the process of opening four studios to the public. The program states that it believes art is fueled by play, exploration, and curiosity, and that it believes in every person's ability to express themselves artistically while encouraging and nurturing the creative journey of every artist it works with.
