About the provider

Silver Canyon Pottery has been in operation since 1988 in Avalon. Robin Cassidy leads the program. The company says its mission is to preserve and celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Catalina Island through the art of tile-making and to offer visitors an authentic and immersive experience connected to the island's history and artistic traditions. It has also created new installations at the City Hall complex, The Avalon Hotel, and many private commissions, and about 40% of the tile installations in Avalon feature reproduction tiles made by Silver Canyon Pottery.

Reservations are required in advance. Last minute reservations are welcome. Children under 5 years of age are not accommodated for safety reasons. Extra tiles may be made for a nominal fee of $10 each. Larger tiles are not offered; only 4" x 4" tiles are made. Tours are available in all weather conditions. English only. Gratuities are appreciated but not expected.
