The Panama-Buena Vista Union School District, established in 1875, oversees the ACES Program. District leadership includes Superintendent Katie Russell and Assistant Superintendents Katie Gonzalez (Business Services), Lynn Paslay (Educational Services), Darryl Johnson (Human Resources), Trina Lovio (Instructional Services), and Dr. Denita Maughan (Special Services). The district’s mission is to provide quality learning opportunities for every student by supporting teachers through mentoring and high quality appropriate professional development. Schools in the district have been recognized as California Distinguished Schools and have received the 2022 California Pivotal Practice Award, California Schools to Watch, and Positive Behavior Intervention Schools designations, and the district has been recognized by The NAMM Foundation for outstanding music education efforts. The district also highlights a growing STEM/STEAM program.
