About
Kala Youth Arts Programs include Camp Kala Summer Youth Arts Program, After School Studio, Teen Studio Art Program, Adult Art Classes, Drawing for Teens, and Teen Studio Trial Days. Drawing for Teens runs from January 20 to March 10 on Tuesdays from 4:00–6:00pm. After School Studio is described as a fun, interactive art-making experience for young artists in Grades 1–5, and the Teen Studio Art Program is for students in grades 6–12.

Kala Art Institute’s mission is to help artists sustain their creative work over time through its Artist-in-Residence and Fellowship Programs, and to engage the community through exhibitions, public programs, and education. Kala’s Teaching Artists are both educators and artists who represent a broad range of cultural backgrounds and artistic approaches, and they are selected for their professional skills, engagement with the art community, and experience teaching children, teens, and adults. Kala offers professional facilities to those working in and across printmaking and digital media, installation, sound, sculpture, and performance. After School Studio offers a 10% multi-child or multi-session discount and reduced tuition, and the Teen Studio Art Program offers a 10% multi-session or sibling discount and tuition assistance; members receive 10% off Adult Art Classes. Kala receives a 2025 Creative Forces Community Engagement grant. Kala Art Institute is located in Huichin, the home territory of Chochenyo speaking Ohlone people, on unceded Lisjan Ohlone land.
