Camps are open to students of all experience levels and backgrounds. Masks are encouraged but optional for all students. Information about camp expectations, safety details, and other logistics is emailed to families one week before the program begins. If a camp is sold out, families can sign up for a waitlist or contact the Berkeley Rep School of Theatre via email. An Early Bird Discount on all summer camps is available through January 26, 2026, and automatically appears on each camp registration page. Current Berkeley Rep season subscribers receive 10% off all programs, and Blue Star families receive 15% off programs, and these discounts cannot be combined or applied retroactively. Payment plans are available for camps by email request, and a limited number of partial financial aid scholarships for youth and teen camps are considered in the order received, with applications submitted by March 9 receiving priority consideration; a financial aid application does not guarantee class admission and separate registration is required if a scholarship is approved.

All sessions of Summer Theatre Camp: Play Creation (Gr 1–5) are identical, and multiple sessions are offered. Final performances or sharings typically start around 7pm, last about one hour, and end with a small celebration in the lobby space, and RSVP is not necessary. With parental consent, students in grades 9–12 may buy lunch nearby in downtown Berkeley but must sign out and bring all food back to eat on campus, while all other students must bring lunch and remain on campus during lunchtime. After camp childcare is available for summer elementary programs only from Monday through Thursday, and families are invited for a final sharing on Friday.

For middle and high school programs, cancellations before April 1 are refunded less a $200 fee, cancellations after April 1 are refunded less a $450 fee, and after May 1 no refund is given.
