CED Summer Programs

CED Summer Programs includes embARC Summer Design Academy, a 4-week program in architecture, urban design, and sustainability with project-based learning. It also includes DISC: Design + Innovation for Sustainable Cities, a 5-week program focused on the intersection of design and sustainability and on addressing urban challenges through innovative design solutions. The Summer Institute in Environmental Design is a 6-week program with three intensive summer programs in architecture, landscape architecture, and city planning, using a studio-based curriculum.

Programs

• embARC Summer Design Academy — Rising high school seniors and exceptional rising high school juniors who are at least 16 years old on the first day of the program · $3,900 · 4 weeks. Architecture, urban design, and sustainability; project-based learning. Residential and commuter option is mentioned for high school students.
• DISC: Design + Innovation for Sustainable Cities — Current college students and beyond; at least 18 years old on the first day of the program · $3,900 · 5 weeks. Focuses on the intersection of design and sustainability; address urban challenges through innovative design solutions.
• Summer Institute in Environmental Design — College degree (Bachelor or equivalent); exceptional students who will have completed their junior year of college before the start of the program · $3,900 · 6 weeks. Three intensive summer programs in architecture, landscape architecture, and city planning; studio-based curriculum.

CED Summer Programs are full-time, immersive, and credit-bearing programs. Tuition is US$3,900. Additional UC Berkeley Summer Sessions charges and fees apply, these fees do not include housing, and all fees must be paid in full to guarantee a spot. Bauer Wurster Hall is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.

CED Summer Programs are full-time programs and require a high level of engagement and commitment. Tuition for the immersive, full-time, and credit-bearing CED Summer programs is US$3,900. Additional UC Berkeley Summer Sessions charges and fees apply. These fees do not include housing. Tuition, charges, and fees are subject to change.
