About
CED Summer Programs offers three for-credit architecture and design summer programs that teach design fundamentals and provide portfolio building opportunities. The Summer Institute in Environmental Design includes intensive programs in architecture, landscape architecture, and city planning that use a studio-based curriculum. DISC: Design + Innovation for Sustainable Cities focuses on the intersection of design and sustainability, and embARC Summer Design Academy combines architecture, urban design, and sustainability through project-based learning.

• Schedule: Summer Institute in Environmental Design: 6 weeks; DISC: Design + Innovation for Sustainable Cities: 5 weeks; embARC Summer Design Academy: 4 weeks
The College of Environmental Design at UC Berkeley, which offers CED Summer Programs, houses the Departments of Architecture, City & Regional Planning, and Landscape Architecture & Environmental Planning, as well as the Institute of Urban & Regional Development and five affiliated research centers.
