Mersey Soccer Club offers activities that include Team Dragon Beginners Step One, Team Dragon Beginners Step Two: Premier, Soccer 4 Kids: Family & Friends, Recreational League Play, Winter Futsal - Indoor, U6-U10 League Play, U11-U14 Travel Rec League, WINTER Futsal, and SPRING Goalkeeper Clinics. The program includes both outdoor soccer league play and indoor futsal options, as well as specific goalkeeper clinics in the spring season.

Mersey Soccer Club was founded in 1985 and is entering its 40th year serving the North Berkeley community. The club is led by Julie Nachtwey, and Bill O'Donnell has accepted the role of director of coaching. Bill O'Donnell brings experience from Liverpool, England, where he led high school teams to success. The club’s name is taken from the English river Mersey, in recognition of English influence from Liverpool. The stated goal at Mersey Soccer Club is to provide a professional introduction to soccer, with a focus on experienced and knowledgeable coaching and a “Golden Vision” that emphasizes skillful, artistic soccer inspired by Everton legend Alex Young. Mersey Soccer Club is an affiliate club within the Albany-Berkeley Soccer League and, through that league, is part of District 4 of the California Youth Soccer Association (CYSA). The Albany-Berkeley Soccer League hosts over 2,600 players and is one of 15 leagues in District 4, which collectively includes around 25,000 players, while CYSA oversees approximately 12,000 teams and more than 200,000 players. Over the years, Mersey Soccer Club has developed teams that have competed successfully throughout the East Bay.
