Mi Mundo Preschool

Mi Mundo Preschool is an art school taught in Spanish where children take part in art activities. The program is offered as an Art and Spanish program in a Spanish immersion school setting. Classrooms are hands-on so children can express and develop cognitive, social, and motor skills, with a curriculum that emphasizes culture, geography, family, science, and play.

• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm

Mi Mundo el Cerrito opened its Art and Spanish program in September 2018. The program and curriculum at the home preschool is the same as the other two schools, with the only difference that it is at a home instead of a center. Mi Mundo Preschool states that it honors and embraces the world’s diversity and believes exposing children to different cultures enriches their first schooling experience and teaches empathy and acceptance. Children must be at least 2 years and 6 months to start the program in August, fully potty trained, able to focus on activities for at least 10 minutes, and able to voice their feelings and needs. All applying children are invited for an assessment to confirm the requirements. For the Berkeley school, children must be fully potty trained, able to sit in a circle for a minimum of 5 minutes, and able to communicate in either English or Spanish, with no Spanish exposure required.
