One PRIDE parent reports that PRIDE helped identify a daughter’s specific learning issues and that the daughter enjoyed every minute of PRIDE and looked forward to her lessons. Another PRIDE parent shares that a daughter who started PRIDE while struggling with reading in 1st grade later became ahead of peers and looked forward to PRIDE sessions. Dr. Abbe Barron, DMD PhD, states that PRIDE is a great resource that specifically addresses reading difficulties with a multisensory approach and notes progress in children who have gone through the program. Reviewer Cathy Duffy of CathyDuffyReviews.com states that the PRIDE Reading Program can be taught by parents or teachers without preparatory training and describes it as the easiest to use among popular Orton-Gillingham programs used by homeschoolers. A parent and educator from Florida with a Master of Education in Special Education reports using the program with students and children who have dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyspraxia, and ADD and describes the program as “absolutely amazing.” A homeschool reviewer from HomeschoolTablet.com notes that one of the first appealing features was the digital online teacher’s manual, which can be reviewed on an iPad or computer.
