Selah Groove is a faith-based, family run dance and art academy that offers classes in ballet, tap, gymnastics, hip hop, jazz, pom/cheer dance, and modern/contemporary, along with adult ballet and adult tap. The program also offers music lessons in piano, flute, violin, guitar, and ukulele, as well as art classes, cooking classes, and STEAM activities that include science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Selah Groove also hosts Kids Night events, seasonal kids camps during winter, spring, summer, and fall breaks, and themed birthday parties such as Lego, Nerf, Princess Tea, Disco Dance/Game Challenge, Spa Day, Super Hero, and art and craft projects like drawing, painting, and making items such as jewelry boxes, t-shirts, puppets, and pillows.

• Schedule: Kids Night on the 4th Saturday of the month from 4–8 pm, with art classes and cooking classes offered every other Saturday
• Price: New student registration $37; family registration $30; birthday parties $250–$340 with a $100 deposit; Kids Night $35 for 4 hours with sibling rates of $8 and $7, or $30 for 3 hours with sibling rates of $8 and $7; 60-minute classes $65 for 4 classes or $125 for 8 classes; 90-minute classes $75; 40–45 minute classes $56 for 4 classes or $107 for 8 classes; 30-minute classes $40 for 4 classes; private lessons $130 for 4 classes at 30 minutes; class prices are based on auto withdrawal, with a $5 increase without auto withdrawal; active duty military receive a 10% discount; military or sibling discounts are given for all classes; discounts are available for 2 or more classes per week, including the 3rd class at 50% off and the 4th class free; financial aid is available with a valid Medical card.

Selah Groove states that its goal is to provide quality classes above and beyond the expectations of its clients, with individual attention and teaching techniques based on each student’s learning style and ability. The program states that it dedicates itself to encouraging, supporting, and uplifting students to strive in their God-given talent and to bless the community through the creative arts. The academy notes that it is always welcoming new students and accepts new students any time of the year, and that registration is open for winter, spring, summer, and fall break kids camps.

Students at Selah Groove receive an evaluation on their progress every six months and may move up to the next level or receive certificates for outstanding performance, outstanding kindness, being helpful in class with peers, and achievement in dance, music, or art level. Annual honors include dancer of the year, most improved, and rising gem award, and students who earn titles receive a Selah Groove t-shirt, trophy, certificate, and special goody bag. The program also uses a Selah dollars reward system with a Kings Store for purchasing gifts 4–5 times a year.

Selah Groove offers Kids Night with the tagline “Bring us the kids & take a break,” as well as private lessons and specialized classes for Quinceañeras, Sweet 16, salsa, and ballroom. Birthday party packages include decorations, setup, cleanup, face painting, games, service to serve guests, and three hours of activities. The program states that it has classes for all ages, from babies to adults, and that it is available morning, day, or night.

Reported service projects involving students and families include making and giving “Bags of blessings” to Colina De Luz Orphanage, Polinsky Center, pre-teen camp, and Operation Christmas Child.
