American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) Area 1-P is part of a national nonprofit youth soccer program. The program follows AYSO’s Six Philosophies: Everyone Plays®, Balanced Teams, Open Registration, Positive Coaching, Good Sportsmanship, and Player Development. It is described as home to soccer in the Heart of Los Angeles.
Founded in 1964, AYSO focuses on providing world class youth soccer programs that enrich children's lives. AYSO Area 1-P is led by Director Kenneth Kotarski. AYSO is a member of the U.S. Soccer Federation, and all AYSO programs conform to U.S. Soccer standards for safety and player development curricula.
AYSO is a national nonprofit with programs in more than 640 communities across the United States. It has a partnership with Chicago Public Schools to enhance youth sports programming. AYSO also has partnerships with the US Center for Mental Health & Sport, focused on player and volunteer wellness, and with Northland Sports Alliance to expand soccer programming in Kansas City.
