The Little Kings Program includes on-ice instruction through Learn To Play Hockey sessions, hockey group classes, skills clinics, and pick-up sessions. Participants can also take part in the Youth In-House Hockey Recreation League, Little Kings Ball Hockey Events, Skating School, and public skates. Head to toe hockey equipment is included for the program.

• Schedule: Youth In-House Hockey Recreation League sessions on Saturdays from 10:00–11:00 AM; includes 6 on-ice Learn To Play Hockey sessions
The Little Kings Program uses a USA Hockey-approved format of on-ice instruction and provides a USA Hockey Registration Number. Families who register by December 31st receive two LA Kings tickets and have access to additional discounted tickets for all LA Kings games, discounted Skating School and public skate passes (which vary by location), and access to free Little Kings Ball Hockey Events. The program also offers access to optional special Little Kings events at Crypto.com Arena and a discount to the LA Kings 5K the following season. Online registration is managed through a DaySmart Recreation member account.
The Hockey Department’s stated philosophy is to promote the game for players of all ages and skill levels in a safe and organized environment, offering ice hockey leagues from novice to professional levels and aiming to foster camaraderie, friendship, and physical fitness while maintaining a fun, enjoyable, and exciting atmosphere. The program operates under the leadership of Hockey Director Sean Allison and Facility Manager Ben Blandford. The California Golden Bears youth hockey club, connected with this facility, is a nonprofit organization that has been family-oriented for years and promotes sportsmanship and good citizenship in the community. The Bears organization is a member of USA Hockey, SCAHA, and CAHA and is one of the oldest youth hockey clubs in Southern California, first chartered by the State in 1964. Pickwick Ice first opened its doors in 1961 and was renamed LA Kings Ice at Pickwick Gardens on January 1, 2019.
