• Ages: 0–18 years old
• Schedule: Open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with additional scheduled events and camps including multi-day summer camp sessions and institute programs
Salit Conservatory is guided by the pedagogy of concert pianist and educator Rufus Choi, and students follow a structured, course-based music education program across all instruments. Group classes provide longer instructional time and a well-rounded introduction to music, and the extended class format allows for deeper understanding and practice than traditional private lessons. Students are placed in level-appropriate group or private classes based on age, ability, and instrument, with foundational skills such as tone, rhythm, posture, and expressive listening prioritized before advancing into interpretation, ensemble work, and phrasing. The curriculum follows a clear progression that helps families track growth step by step, and the program includes a structured course pathway across all instruments.
Summer Camp Session 2 of Skates & Sounds Summer Camp runs from July 6 to July 10, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Oxana Yablonskaya Piano Institute (OYPI) runs from July 9, 2026, 10:00 AM to July 13, 2026, 8:00 PM, with a Masterclass with Oxana Yablonskaya on July 11, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, and a Recital with Oxana Yablonskaya and Rufus Choi on July 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM.
The conservatory’s mission states that it is dedicated to cultivating musicians of all ages through a balanced approach that unites imagination, emotional depth, and technical mastery, with a structured course pathway across all instruments. The leadership team includes Founder and CEO Rufus Choi, Co-Founder and Executive Director Ruth Choi, Director of Operations Rebecca Newcomer, and Administrator Alejandro Sanchez. The program describes a vision of a vibrant, supportive community where students and families experience the transformative power of music education.
